The Wine

The Cellar Release Shiraz 2010 went through everything in the vineyard and winery to be the best Shiraz of the vintage, but we felt the wine needed more time in the bottle before release. The wine if full bodied and rich with blackberry fruits, spice and tar flavours. A combination of American and French oak adding intensity and roundness. It is drinking well now and will continue to develop over the next 4 to 5 years in the cellar.

The Grape Variety

A portion of the wine finished fermenting in barrels, then all parcels spent 18 to 20 months in 52% new American and French oak with the balance in older American oak barriques and puncheons before bottling. The wine was bottled with an alcohol of 14%, pH of 3.4 and an acid level of 6.5g/L.
